Food prep workers' responsibilities include the following:

Experience in the food industry is helpful but optional. We cross-train all team members to provide them with the knowledge and skills to work in all areas of our kitchen. 
 
We have a full-time morning food prep position from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm (hours may vary), five times per week. Open availability is preferred! Saturdays are required! We are closed on Sundays. Adult wages start at $18.00 per hour based on industry experience and availability.

The Assistant Catering Manager helps oversee all catering operations at Blue Gate Performing Arts Center. In this position, you will plan, prepare, and serve meals to entertainers, visitors, and groups from across America and other countries, reporting to the Catering Manager. The Assistant Catering Manager is also responsible for supervising and training staff, including the bartenders, catering, and concessions staff. Essential job functions include, but aren't limited to, food quality and presentation, cost control, facility appearance, and guest and employee safety. You will maintain a great work environment by promoting positive communication, leading by example, and having fun. Managers will assign other duties and responsibilities.
 
The Assistant Catering Manager will work full-time. Weekly hours, assignments, and departments will vary, including catering, the Blue Gate Garden Inn, and the Blue Gate Restaurant. Fridays and Saturdays are required and are the longest workdays each week! The pay range is $22 to $25 per hour based on experience.

Assistant Catering Manager Requirements:
• A background in catering, event planning, or the food industry
• Experience planning, preparing, and cooking large quantities of food for diverse groups of people
• Time management and organizational skills
• Willing to work late nights and weekends (Fridays and Saturdays!)
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment maintenance and cleaning 
• Proficiency in safe food handling procedures
• Experience managing and controlling food and labor costs
• Experience in supervising, leading, and coaching a team
• Must meet the job's physical demands, including standing for long periods, working in high-heat conditions, moving, stretching, bending, and lifting and carrying 50 pounds.
• A clear criminal background check.

Join our team at the Blue Gate Restaurant as a Host/Hostess. As a Host/Hostess, you will effectively communicate with guests from all over the country, from welcoming them upon arrival to thanking them as they leave. Your primary responsibilities are:
• Greeting guests
• Answering questions and providing information
• Taking guests to their table with menus
• Clearing tables
• Operating a cash register
• Communicating accurately, effectively, and professionally
 
A Host/Hostess rotates through stations with different responsibilities daily, providing variety and helping develop new skills. A part-time host/hostess will work 2 or 3 times per week, including Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. No Sundays! Adult wages start at up to $15.00 per hour.

Join our team as a server/waiter/waitress at the Blue Gate Restaurant, a themed restaurant in Shipshewana, Indiana. A server/waiter/waitress should be friendly, outgoing, and focused on providing excellent service to each guest! Your job duties include:

We have six-hour and ten-hour shifts. A server can earn between $100 and $300 per shift, including hourly wages and daily tips. We require evening availability, including Saturdays.

Shift hours vary from three (3) to five (5) hours each, with a required minimum of two (2) shifts per week.

A housekeeper will work from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a 30-minute off-the-clock break five times weekly, including weekends. Saturdays and Sundays are required!
 
As a housekeeper, you work five days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays. Pay starts at $16.00 per hour with a $2.00 shift differential on Sundays.

Join us as a banquet server at the Blue Gate Restaurant, a themed restaurant in Shipshewana, Indiana. We are looking for friendly, guest-focused, high-energy people to serve groups at events in Shipshewana. Some responsibilities of a banquet server include setting up, plating food, delivering hot dishes promptly, cleaning up, and performing other side tasks.

Our banquet servers take pride in providing excellent meals for our guests while also having fun! Banquet servers can earn up to $20 an hour, including wages and gratuities. Banquet servers work part-time year-round, make good money, and have flexible schedules.

Join our Blue Gate Garden Inn breakfast team as a weekend dishwasher, working from 8:00 am until noon on Saturdays and Sundays. As a dishwasher, you will efficiently clean and wash dishes, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment while maintaining a safe, organized work area. In addition, you will maintain bus carts, tubs, the dish machine, and garbage containers. Other responsibilities your manager can assign include keeping the entire dish room area sanitary and orderly, including the dishwashing machine, washing mats, and sinks.

A breakfast dishwasher will work on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year. The starting wage is $14.00 per hour plus a $2.00 shift differential on Sundays.
