Manager on Duty
Blue Gate Restaurant and Bakery seeks a dedicated Manager on Duty to join our team. Job Summary:
The Blue Gate Garden Inn's general manager is a customer-focused position that requires daily demonstration of customer service and leadership, leading to an excellent experience for each guest. Areas of focus include managing the hotel to achieve high-quality service and revenue objectives, supervising and training team members, and marketing all Blue Gate Hospitality properties' products and services.
Job Responsibilities:
•	Ensure the implementation of all aspects of the hotel's operations, including but not limited to customer service, maintenance, gift shop, arcade, food & beverage, group sales, and other areas as assigned.
•	Work with the corporate management team to establish short-term and long-range plans to achieve overall revenue and growth objectives
•	Work collaboratively with all supervisors and managers to continually enhance and advance the hotel's goals and operations.
•	Always demonstrates incredible customer service by providing and seeking ways to improve the service that we provide our guests.
•	Maintains compliance with company policies, programs, standards, practices, corporate established financial procedures, and safety guidelines.
•	General management duties include inspecting the property and grounds, reviewing labor costs, resolving issues, and providing daily customer support.
•	Demonstrates the ability to think critically, including quickly absorbing all the facts and making sound decisions concerning customer service, cost control, building management, and emergency management.
•	Review current business trends and local activities, including rates, amenities, promotional programs, etc., then develop and recommend plans.
•	Works with the sales team to grow new and retain old businesses.
•	Develops, trains, and coaches all department managers, supervisors, and staff on operational, safety, and emergency procedures.
•	Works with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure compliance with laws, codes, etc.
•	Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends that could improve or impact the hotel's operations.
•	Audits departments, including testing departmental employees, ensuring procedures are followed, working with front-line staff, and ensuring all documentation is in place and used accordingly.
•	Works with department managers on inventory tracking, training, scheduling staff, job descriptions, manuals, and policies for their areas.
•	Ensures that new employees receive the appropriate training.
•	Additionally, develop and implement specific customer service training as needed throughout the hotel.
•	Works with the maintenance department to ensure all rooms, systems, and equipment are adequately maintained and inspected.
•	Proficient in all software functions used throughout the hotel and conference center, including PMS, POS, Time Clock Manager, and other necessary software.
•	Leads a weekly staff meeting, guiding the management team by reviewing the past week and looking ahead for several weeks.
•	Knows and enforces all cash control procedures/policies. Must work with a consistent, honest, and ethical attitude and approach to cash control.
•	Maintains a Manager-on-duty manual covering all methods and procedures needed to handle any scenario in the hotel and provides updates to the Vice President of Operations.
•	Respond to reviews and questions on third-party websites, including TripAdvisor, Google, Booking.com, etc.
•	Works daily to protect the assets and property of the hotel.
•	Other duties as assigned or required.
Minimum Qualifications:
•	Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
•	High school diploma or equivalent plus at least three years of related experience
•	Any equivalent combination of education and experiences that provides the above skills, knowledge, and abilities.
•	Proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software as necessary.
Kitchen Line
Join our team at the Blue Gate Restaurant to work on the kitchen line. In this fast-paced job, you will ensure that all plates are portioned properly, look professional, and leave the kitchen efficiently. Other responsibilities include:
•	Making salads and sandwiches.
•	Stocking and organizing the line.
•	Cleaning and sanitizing the workstation.
•	Preparing and making chicken.
•	Operating fryers.
•	Assisting with various kitchen tasks as assigned.

You could be a good fit for this position if you are detail-oriented and enjoy a fast-paced work environment.

You will be scheduled to work an eight-hour shift on the kitchen line up to four times weekly, including days, evenings (our closing shift), and Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays! The hourly wage for adults starts at $16.00 per hour. Experience is not required, and we provide paid training. Our kitchen staff is cross-trained so that each person can build new skills and reach their full potential.

Front Desk Attendant & Night Auditor
Join our front desk team at the Blue Gate Garden Inn. In this full-time position, you will work three shifts weekly on the second shift (3 pm – 11 pm) and two shifts as the night auditor (11 pm – 7 am), including Saturdays and Sundays.
Some responsibilities include assisting guests, checking in and checking out, performing administrative duties, cleaning, tending the front desk overnight, running various reports, and performing other duties as assigned.

Each day brings smiles, the challenge to learn and grow, and the rewards of serving others! This full-time position works five shifts per week, including Saturdays and Sundays.  Experience in the hotel industry is preferred. Wages start at $16.00 per hour.

Driver - Evenings
Join the Blue Gate Hospitality team as a driver. Our drivers use a company-assigned van to transport employees from their homes to work safely and back to their homes in a cost-efficient, timely, and courteous manner. As a company driver, you must promptly arrive at each location to ensure that the person comes to work on time. In addition, as a valued member of the Blue Gate team, you interact with people from many company divisions, and managers rely on you to care for their employees and keep the department on schedule.
Driver Responsibilities: 
•	Transport employees
•	Keep to the schedule.
•	Use navigation/map to locate and drive to addresses.
•	Communicate professionally and courteously.
•	Maintain the van, including cleaning, collecting trash, checking/adding fluids, adding air to tires, getting fuel, etc.
•	Various downtime jobs include washing dishes, sorting silverware, light kitchen work, and other assigned duties.
Our driver will work two times weekly, from 2:00 pm until midnight on average, including Saturday shifts (Required!). No Sundays! Pay starts at up to $15.00 per hour, and paid training is provided. You will work a long shift and late hours. The ideal person would not work another job on the same day that they drive for us. It would help if you enjoyed people, like driving and working late.
Driver Requirements:
•	Must have a valid driver’s license. 
•	Must have or get a for-hire endorsement.
•	Minimum of 5 years of driving experience
•	Must be 21 years of age or older.
•	Must live within 20 miles of Shipshewana, Indiana.
•	Must be familiar with the area, roads, and routes surrounding Shipshewana.

Buffet Attendant
Shipshewana, Indiana, is a popular destination for travelers from all over the country. Many visitors come to the Blue Gate Restaurant to enjoy the well-known buffet. As a buffet attendant, you will help us deliver a great customer experience with your hard work and positive attitude. You can be the reason they leave with a smile and return in the future. 

Buffet attendant responsibilities include:
•	Stocking and cleaning the buffet.
•	Ordering and transporting food.
•	Communicating professionally with kitchen staff and guests.
•	Completing other duties as assigned.
•	Assisting the kitchen team as needed.

We are looking for two buffet attendants to work year-round (not seasonal). As a part-time buffet attendant, you will work four weekly shifts from 4:00 pm until close, including Friday and Saturday. As a full-time buffet attendant, you must have open availability and will work five times weekly, including Friday and Saturday. Adult buffet attendants earn $16.00 per hour; experience isn’t required, and paid training is provided. In addition, buffet attendants are cross-trained in other kitchen stations, so each person can build new skills and reach their full potential. 

Buffet Attendant Requirements:
•	Must be willing and available to work on days, nights, weekends (Fridays and Saturdays), and holidays.

Donut Fryer
Join the Blue Gate Bakery team as a donut maker on the third shift. Our donut makers should be self-motivated, task-oriented, focused on details, and adaptable. Making donuts is hard work, but the result of your effort is a great product, happy customers, and the satisfaction of your accomplishment. 
Donut Maker Responsibilities:
•	Weighing, mixing, cutting the dough
•	Frying and glazing donuts. 
•	Safely use and maintain equipment, including stand mixer, fryer, etc.
•	Clean the work area, wash dishes, sweep, mop, etc.
•	Assisting with the production of other baked goods
•	Other duties as assigned.
As a donut maker, you will work five weekly shifts from 10:00 pm until 6:00 am, including Friday night into Saturday morning. Experience is preferred but not required! Paid training is provided, and wages start at up to $17.00 per hour.

Join our cleaning crew at the Blue Gate Restaurant. As a cleaner, you will help keep the building looking its best. As a cleaner, you will help us keep all areas of the building looking their best. Each cleaner works independently from a shared daily list of duties.

Cleaner Responsibilities include:
•	Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and floor care
•	Dusting, wiping counters, and sanitizing
•	Cleaning employee and public bathrooms, including restocking supplies
•	Empty trash cans
•	Other tasks and projects as assigned

You will work up to five shifts weekly in the morning as a cleaner, including Saturday, with hours of 4:00 am until approximately 10:00 am. Cleaning experience and knowledge are required! We provide paid training! Hourly wages start at $14.00 per hour.
